Foster Parents

In a 2012 survey by the Kansas Partnership on Educating Kids in Care (KPEKC), eighty-five percent of respondents indicated Foster Parents were VERY IMPORTANT for youth in foster care graduating on time.

The KPEKC policy team developed the documents in this section to improve educational outcomes for youth in foster care by assisting foster parents with navigating the child welfare and education systems. Resources include frequently asked questions about student record sharing, summaries of federal and state regulations, and information about special education decision-making.
